The Uniform of the Soviet Army was a "version for the poor" of the uniforms worn by the 19th century military Russian imperial army. Before the beginning of World War II, when the USSR had the largest army in Europe - about 2 million soldiers - the Kremlin preferred a cheap but efficient design, without all bright vignettes and epolettes of royal generals. Uniform was practical, nothing but honors, who wore some senior officers, which made them easily accessible targets of German shooters.

Winter uniforms consisted of: a long coat or short watches, hats-wizards and boots-their Russian military and civilians wore for centuries. Such clothing, designed for harsh winter conditions, helped the Russian army to win in the war with France in 1812 and the Second World War in 1941-1945. Many Hitler soldiers freeze to death. After the collapse of the USSR, the military leadership of the Russian Federation decided to carry out reforms on military clothing.

General Pavel Grachov, who held the post of the Ministry of Defense Ministry under President Boris Yeltsin, decided to use a uniform, similar to the one that NATO soldiers wear. In the following ministers, uniform became even thinner. In turn, the famous fashion designer Valentin Yudashkin made even more radical changes. Russian soldiers complained that uniform was sewn from synthetic materials and in it too hot in the summer.

The pockets are too small - they did not contain phone, documents and more. Velcro often fell off, buttons flew in a few weeks, the seams were torn, the color was faded after a few washes. When walking, the clothes of rustles and melted from the spark. But the main thing is that such a "design" uniform was also excessively thin to the winter because it did not have any attention. Instead of natural fabrics, such as cotton, linen and wool, it was made of new high -tech materials.

Some Russian soldiers joked that even at -15 Celsius they had to jump to warm up, and they could not wait for -20 for -20 when the enemy would shoot them so as not to freeze to death. The current Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu also made some changes, for example, forbade servicemen to hang more than 10 medals. Putin also suggested some changes, including forbidden to wear papagues, which replaced cheaper hats on rabbit fur.
