Britain for the first time in a quarter of a century did not import energy from the Russian Federation - DW

Britain has stopped importing not only raw materials, but also a number of other goods from the Russian Federation. In general, the volume of imports from the aggressor country to the United Kingdom decreased by 97%. In June, the United Kingdom did not import any energy from Russia for the first time in at least a quarter of a century. About it reports DW.

According to journalists with reference to the data of the Statistical Office onS, the import of raw materials from the Russian Federation has been constantly declining since the introduction of anti -Russian sanctions. As a result, for the first month of the summer, the United Kingdom, for the first time in the calculations, started 25 years ago, did not receive any purified oil products from the aggressor, namely gasoline, diesel, gas, coal and coke.

Although last year the Russian Federation was the largest supplier of energy for the United Kingdom. By the end of the year, it is planned to completely stop imports of oil and petroleum products from Russia. Due to sanctions, the import of other goods was almost stopped. According to OnSs, in total, the volume of imports from the aggressor country to Britain has decreased by 97% and now is only £ 33 million [$ 39 million].

Many British companies have already voluntarily stopped any cooperation with business from Russia. In trying to find an alternative, businesses increase the number of purchases from partners from other countries. For example, the import of petroleum products from Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Belgium and Kuwait has increased significantly. At the same time, the United Kingdom increases its own gas production.

Thus, in the first half of the year gas production in Britain increased by annual deduction by 26%. Recall that the United States threatened with the sanctions of Turkish business for relations with Russian companies and citizens of the Russian Federation, against which international restrictions were imposed. The US Ministry of Finance believes that Turkish banks cannot cooperate with the sub-financial institutions of the aggressor country and maintain working relations with American banks.
