The first step: the EU is preparing to use frozen assets of the Russian Federation to restore Ukraine - the media

According to journalists, the EU is going to impose sanctions against Alfa-Bank, Rosbank and JSC "Tinkoff Bank", as well as the National Welfare Fund of the Russian Federation. The European Union is ready to force banks to report information about the assets of the Central Bank of Russia as part of the last package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. Bloomberg writes about it.

The publication writes that obtaining control over the scale of the Central Bank and other state assets of Russia is considered as the first step to studying options for potential use of these funds to facilitate the restoration of Ukraine.

It is reported that the European Commission also suggested to strengthen the liabilities for frozen assets related to Russian companies and individuals under sanctions and proposed to impose fines - up to 50,000 euros for individuals and 10% annual turnover for legal entities for not providing the necessary information. The material states that the EU intends to approve the 10th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation next week.

European leaders also intend to strengthen Kiev's military support. As for sanctions, as journalists write, the last package will also introduce large trade restrictions on goods used by Russian military, including technologies, components, heavy cars, electronics and rare earth elements. The EU also proposes to prohibit transit of goods through Russia to reduce the risk of violation of sanctions, and to impose restrictions on the import of Russian rubber and asphalt into the EU.

It is reported that the EU also intends to impose sanctions against dozens of individuals and legal entities, including politicians and servicemen, as well as: publication writes that other proposals include extension propaganda, manipulation and distortion of facts against the EU and its neighbors. According to documents, the EU also wants to prohibit Russian citizens to hold positions in the governing bodies of operators of critical European infrastructures and enterprises.
