In Telegram, the press service of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense clarifies that the interrogations of the prisoners were conducted by militants from the terrorist organization "MGB DNR" together with representatives of the PEC Wagner and the Russian FSB. "Physical tortures and beatings were actively used during interrogations," the Presenter writes.

GUR specifies that the torture was aimed not at obtaining confidential information, but to "abuse, physical humiliation, psychological demoralization" to break the moral and psychological state of Ukrainians. FSB representatives planned to attract prisoners of Ukrainians in pro -Russian reports, added in intelligence.

On the air, the captives had to recognize "crimes committed by them, atrocities against the local population", to renounce their views, as well as to condemn the actions of the Ukrainian authorities. The invaders were not successful, and the Ukrainian captives "revealed exceptional courage and unbreakable willpower," they emphasized in GUR.

"The Russian side did not intend to exchange prisoners of war and to conceal the improper conditions and forms of interrogation of Ukrainian servicemen (which could be a evidence in the Hague court) intentionally destroyed prisoners," the press service writes. The GUR reminded that, according to their data, the mining of the maintenance of Ukrainian fighters was carried out by Wagner PVC fighters using a flammable substance.

On July 29, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that the Russian Federation struck a colony in the occupied Olenivka to accuse Ukraine of committing war crimes, as well as hide the torture over the captives and executions, which were carried out by orders of the occupation administration and command in the temporarily occupied territory. In the colony, the occupiers kept in particular the defenders of Mariupol, including the fighters of the Azov Regiment.

The UN and the Red Cross had to guarantee their safety. Russian propaganda media said at least 53 Ukrainian captive servicemen were killed. The next day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published a list of 42 dead, in Ukraine stated that they have not yet received this data. According to the Attorney General's office, about 40 people were killed as a result of the Russian terrorist attack and were injured. Zelensky said on June 6 that there are more than 2.
