Russia is a potential buyer. Iran is increasing the production and sale of drones - NYT

SHACHED-191 (photo: militarywatchmagazine. com) Iran intensified the sale of drones from the country outside the Middle East. Thus, the country tries to become a player in the international market. About it writes The New York Times. According to Iranian media, satellite images and intelligence, Iran is now seeking to create its own global influence and sell combat drones to other countries, including those that have different sanctions, including Venezuela and Sudan in recent years.

The potential client can become an aggressor country. The day before, Washington stated that he had intelligence that Moscow plans to buy hundreds of drones in Iran to strengthen his arsenal for war in Ukraine. "Iran is increasingly becoming a global player in terms of exports of drones," said a defense analyst, an expert along the Middle East, Seth Franzman.

According to him, Iranian drones cost less than other models on the market, but have proven their value in the fields of battles in the Middle East. Franzman noted that Iranian drones are mostly purchased by low -income countries or countries affected by sanctions and cannot buy them anywhere. Iran is also faced with fierce competition by countries such as Turkey and its Bayraktar drones.

Earlier, US President Assistant Jake Sullivan stated that Iran was going to have an accelerated order to transfer Russia to several hundred drones, in particular capable of carrying weapons. According to Washington, the Russian delegation visited the Kashan airfield twice in Iran for the last month and inspected combat drones. Iran's Foreign Minister Hosin-Amir Abdollachian stated that his country was not going to supply the Russian Federation.
