On August 8, Japan's Economy Minister of Economy said that the Japanese planned to keep their shares in Sakhalin-1 and Sakhalin-2 Russian oil and gas projects because Russia remains "a valuable source [energy] outside the Middle East. " This statement is the result of more than a monthly reflection of Japan, which Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has put in a difficult situation.
He actually banned companies from "unfriendly countries", which includes Japan, to sell their shares in strategically important enterprises. Japan, as a participant in Group of Seven (G7, Big Seven), should support all the decisions of this club, which brings together the most developed economies of the world, regarding the implementation of sanctions against Russia and ideally to get out of projects in this country.
