Ukraine needs more aircraft to challenge Russia in the sky - Kuleba

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine noted that the greatest problem is the constancy of supply by allies of artillery ammunition in sufficient numbers. Ukraine needs more aircraft and helicopters to challenge Russia's dominance in the sky during the Armed Forces counter -offensive. Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated this in an interview with Telegraph.

According to him, "reset Russia from the sky" is the second challenge for Ukraine after the supply of artillery ammunition in an amount sufficient for the counter -offensive of the defense forces. "The biggest problem in the counter -offensive is the constancy of deliveries of artillery ammunition, with sufficient quantity. And the second is the biggest problem of counter -offensive - the domination of Russia in the air," he said.

According to the Foreign Minister, Ukraine needs aircraft, helicopters and portable anti -aircraft complexes, including Stinger. He also noted that all weapons classes that Kiev expected from the Allies was already "unlocked. " It is aircraft, modern tanks, high -ranking rockets and fighters. "The biggest mountain we have to overcome is to ensure the sustainable supply of artillery ammunition. It is still an unconquered vertex of diplomacy," Kuleba said.

In addition, he explained that Ukraine is trying to persuade Washington to provide the ATACMS long -range missiles, which are launched from HIMARS, since there is not enough missile missiles Storm Shadow. Recall that Ukrainian pilots who perform combat missions on Su-25 aircraft in an interview with CNN, published on June 21, told about the difficulties of confrontation with Russian combat aviation.
