Technological breakthrough. In Israel, a new Gabriel 5 anti -ship (video) has been tested

The rocket is able to impress targets at least 200 km and in any weather. The launch was made from the latest Corvette Magen Sa'ar 6, which is equipped with a new version of the Iron Dome. In Israel, the Gabriel 5 anti -ship rocket was tested on Magen Sa'ar Corvette 6. Defense Brief reports. Successful tests of the anti -ship missile have already been called a technological breakthrough in the field of maritime defense. Gabriel 5 is a product of IAI military engineers and Israeli Ministry of Defense.

During the tests, the anti -ship rocket successfully struck the target. The Gabriel 5 rocket is the last generation of anti -ship missiles developed by ISrael Aerospace Industries. The range of the lesion is at least 200 km in all weather conditions. The first version of the rocket was developed in the 1960s. It is worth noting that not only the rocket, but also the vessel from which it was launched is unique in the trials.

Magen Sa'ar 6 is one of the first ships with a new version of the Iron Dome-C-Dome. The vessels themselves are built by the German company Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems. The corvette also received a new 76mm OTO Melara weapon and torpedo launchers. Ships have stealth technologies that should reduce its visibility for radars. Corvette tasks are to protect the exclusive economic zone of Israel and gas platforms in the Mediterranean.
