The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation try to provoke a "Fukimen" script at the Zaporozhye NPP - experts

Stopping of power units and loss of power sources will lead to the release of radiation, as well as pollution of the Dnieper, the Black Sea and neighboring countries. Occupation troops, firing the Zaporizhzhya NPP and threatening to stop the station, try to provoke a "fukima" script at a nuclear object. This is warned by the press service of the State Inspectorate of Nuclear Response of Ukraine.

According to the department, stopping the operation of all power units and the loss of power sources will cause damage to the active area of the reactor plant and the release of radioactive substances into the environment. Diara notes that it was on such a scenario that a Fukimen NPP disaster was occurred in 2011 and reminds that constant power supply is required for cooling of nuclear fuel in the active areas of reactorial installations, as well as for waste fuel in endurance pools.

Today, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has destroyed three out of four lines that connect the NPP with the power system of Ukraine, and in case of damage to the latter - the nuclear object will lose the ability to receive electricity for their own needs. "After loss of all sources of electricity, the process of melting of nuclear fuel will begin, which can result in the release of radioactive substances into the environment.

There are seven nuclear facilities at the Zaporozhye NPP - six power units and dry storage facilities It will be limited to regional problems of Ukraine, and may have cross -border consequences, " - warned in the press service of the State Inspectorate. Diara also warns that a radioactive cloud in the event of an accident can be carried in the direction of the Russian Federation, Belarus and EU countries.

In addition, because the Zaporizhzhya NPP is located on the shore of the Kakhovka reservoir, the Dnieper and the Black Sea can become contaminated. "Nuclear safety is holding the Ukrainian staff of the station in their hands," - summed up in the department. We will remind, earlier "Energoatom" warned of a radiation disaster at the Zaporozhye NPP due to actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
