He threatened to shoot a civilian. Russian tanker was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison

The Russian tank commander was found guilty of violating the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced to eight and a half years of imprisonment. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office on Thursday, September 1.

Prosecutors proved that the commander of the 35th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade, as part of the 41st All-Military Army of Russia, crossed the border of Ukraine from the territory of Belarus to participate in Chernihiv. In early March, the Russian attacked a resident of the village of Khalavyn and robbed him, threatening the execution. He later captured the defenders of Ukraine.

Video of the day at the Prosecutor General's office stated that in court the Russian military found guilt and repented, and the defense party asked for a softer sentence, "taking into account [his] sincere repentance and active assistance to the crime. " On August 8, the Desnyanskiy District Court of Chernihiv found Mikhail Kulikov's military guilty of the article on violation of the laws and customs of war and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He shot from a tank to a dwelling house.
