Were raised by alarm: Romanian F-16 aircraft in the Baltic were intercepted by 2 Russian fighters

Romanian fighters based in the Baltic States within the NATO Air Patrol mission have intercepted two Russian Su-27. On Friday, April 7, two Romanian F-16 F-16 Carpathian Vipers were raised by the NATO Air Operations Center in Germany to intercept two aircraft. This was reported by Romanian Air Force. "Two unknown aircraft flew over international waters were found in the NATO responsibility area. According to standard procedures, the Romanian F-16s were raised by alarm to clarify the air situation.

After interception, the aircraft were identified as two Su-27 flagkers belonging to the Russian Federation . They were safely removed from the Alliance's responsibility zone, "the message reads. The Romanian Air Force noted that intercepting within the amplified air police mission in the Baltic States has been successful and confirmed a high level of combat capability of the Carpathian vipers and the ability of Romania Air Force to deploy and use F-16 aircraft in NATO.
