For Ukrainians and Jews, this is a common war for their own history-Andrey Ermak on online meetings with representatives of the Jewish community

The head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak spent online meetings with representatives of Jewish organizations, the Jewish community and the Israeli media. More than 50 participants from all over the world joined the meeting.

The main topic of conversation was to unite the efforts of Ukrainians and Jews to counteract anti -Semitism in the world, upholding the historical truth about the value and contribution of two peoples to world history, as well as possible directions of support of Ukraine in the war resolved by Russia.

The head of the head of state expressed gratitude for strengthening the support of our country by the Jewish communities, in particular for significant humanitarian assistance for the most vulnerable groups of Ukrainians. At the same time, he urged the participants of the meeting to promote the strengthening of military assistance to our country by Israel. “I think that today Israel can help Ukraine in the protection of Iranian drones.

And we very much hope to create a joint initiative on this, ”Andrei Yermak stressed. He recalled that two countries are not just a friendly relationship. Many prominent Jews were born in Ukraine, and many Ukrainians rescued Jews during World War II. “It is natural and historically to be as friendly and partnership between Ukraine and Israel.

True friendship has no time limits, and of course, we must be together both during military challenges, and during the peace we believe in and which we hope, very soon will come to the Ukrainian land, ”said the Presidential Office Head. According to him, today Ukraine has clearly defined its civilization path as a democratic European country, in which they are deeply respected by all peoples and honor the memory of the victims of the Holodomor and the Holocaust.

Despite military challenges, Ukraine does not stop work on the restoration of historical truth about these tragedies both domestically and in the world. Russia's imperialist power has always been aimed at degrading the value and importance of both Ukrainian and Jewish peoples. And Vladimir Putin's statements to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky emphasize this again.

Andriy Yermak thanked for the reaction of representatives of the Jewish community: “The Kremlin not only tolerates, but encourages the growth of xenophobia and anti -Semitism not only in Russia but all over the world. That is why it is extremely important to be a decisive public response from Jewish public figures and a transparent position of political leadership of the country.

" The head of the head of state reminded that with the support of the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on combating anti -Semitism. Andriy Yermak also stressed that it is extremely important to maintain the unity of the world community in supporting Ukraine and to strengthen sanctions on the Russian Federation, in particular against Russian propagandists and all who support the Russian regime.

The meeting was attended by: Soviet dissident, Israeli politician and human rights activist Nathan Shchauransky, Rabin, President of United Jewish Organizations Williamsburg and Northern Brooklyn David Niderman, President of the Jewish Confederacy , Chairman of the Board of Human Rights Raul Vallenberg Jay Rosenzweig and founder of the Center Irwin Kotler, representative of the Institute for the Study of Global Anti -Semitism and Policy (ISGAP) Larisa Rutman, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Jewish Communities of Ukraine, Director of Raphael Ratman, Director Progressive Judaism, Vaad, "Moishe House", communities of conservative Judaism "Masoret", regional Jewish communities of Ukraine and Israeli media.
