"So says the law": the court of the Russian Federation obliged the resident of Murmanskaya to finance the Armed Forces (photo)

According to Russian law, the former serviceman is forced to pay a fine in favor of a military unit near Vinnytsia. A resident of the Russian city of Murmansk, who previously served in the USSR army in the territory of Ukraine, appealed to the court to terminate the enforcement proceedings, according to which he should pay the Armed Forces a fine. However, he was refused in the department, writes North Post.

After the collapse of the USSR, the man decided to retire in the army of independent Ukraine. At the beginning of zero years, he was fined for allowing theft of petroleum products from a military unit in Vinnytsia region for 674 242 rubles. The former military paid this amount until recently.

The Murmansky Court approved the decision to pay the fine to the Ukrainian military unit, referring to the Convention on "Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters", adopted in 1997 in the CIS countries. The source states that in 2019, money for some reason began not to reach Ukraine and settle in the bank in the account for unclaimed amounts. At the same time, the court refused to close the enforcement proceedings.

In 2022, a resident of Murmanskaya hired a lawyer Jan Kotlovskaya to call back the court to stop the proceedings. The plaintiff also requires him to return 175 thousand rubles, arguing that he finances the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Yana Kotlovskaya, the man was denied the man, reminding the Minsk Convention. Representatives of the bank where the payments settled joined the court position.

The lawyer noted that the Russian law on combating extremism and terrorism does not apply to this situation. The Russian Federation has no official documents according to which the Armed Forces are terrorists. "That is, theoretically, the Murman finances the Armed Forces, but as he was reassured in court, there is no crime in his actions, because he is given the law so to do so," Kotlovskaya said.
