Ilon Musk declared a Wi war: he envies or plays competitors?

"This person was selling flames, and now talks about safety," they laugh at a mask of criticism. The scandalous IT magnate even requires a government ban on the development of neurotrans. Ilon Musk and a group of experts supporting, signed and published today an open letter to the entire IT community with a call to temporarily stop the development of AI.

In their message, they ask for artificial intelligence developers for at least half a year to stop the development and training of neurotromes, which can exceed their capabilities today's Chatgpt-4, since they threaten humanity with almost apocalypse. The focus tried to deal with what happened. The signatories who have already made noise, the message is convinced that it is now necessary to pause in the development of AI to develop conceptual rules and restrictions on its work.

The initiative group is afraid that modern AI systems are becoming more competitive when it comes to simple tasks. But since this argument is not too effective, experts especially emphasize their attention on the painful issues of fakes and propaganda. "We need to ask ourselves: can we allow machines to clog our information channels by propaganda and wrong?" - the authors of the letter note.

In addition, the signatories believe that with the development of neurotroups, the AI will become smarter than a person, which will cause the risk of loss of control over civilization and the transition of power over people to AI. Experts are ready for extreme events if the letter does not give the addressees.

"If the companies that develop AI do not agree to suspend their developments for at least half a year, then the government should intervene and prohibit all such research," - said in the document signed by Ilon Musk. The expert group wants to "create special safety protocols for AI, and during this time, the governments of the countries must have special regulation bodies and laws within half a year.

Musk and his team immediately reject all the accusations that they will be stagnant, and emphasize that they just want to put the development of AI on a pause. By the way, among the signatories there is a person who, despite all the doubts and caveats, once moved the IT industry forward-Steve Wozniak, one of the founders of Apple.

Interestingly, the letter was created with the support of the non -profit organization Future of Life Institute, which is engaged in the promotion of responsible and ethical development of the AI. The Institute has previously achieved that the following figures such as Musk and the Labo Google Deepmind have never been promised to develop deadly autonomous weapons systems.

By the way, Ilon himself became an honorary "freelance consultant" of this institute, along with such stars of science as Sol Perlmutter, the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2011, and Morgan Fryman, actor and director. Of course, this open letter caused a real storm of emotions on Twitter and commentators are not ashamed in statements. Some of them believe that a person who traded flamethrowers should not talk about safety.

Other commentators suspected that Ilon Musk simply wants to fit into the AI race, and since it does not have time for leaders, this letter and call to the government to intervene simply sabotage competitors. Someone even suspected a mask that he plays China or Google. After all, the signatories include Deepmind, which belongs to the search giant, and he is known to lose positions rapidly against how Microsoft has successfully integrated Chatgpt-4 into all their products and growing users.

Someone remembered the mask and his difficult relationship with Open AI (Chatgpt developers), with whom Ilon cooperated, but divorced, grabbing the promised billion who was going to invest in the company. Critics now reproach masks for banal envy to his former colleagues, who, despite anything, have led to success and have become legislators in the artificial intelligence segment.

They remembered the mask and his ability to handle the AI, because the neural network was used in the development of autopilots in Tesla, and the cars still got in the accident. Many have noted that the signatories include AI companies, such as Stability AI (drawing generation), which seriously competes with Dall-E-a generative neural network from Openai. By the way, thanks to the huge investment in Open AI, Dall-E is available for free to all users of the company.

The most ripped ones cannot believe in the logic of such a proposal. They really do not understand how half a year it is possible to perform such a huge amount of work: to develop regulatory rules, government laws on control of the AI, to collect a group of "independent experts on control" ("independence" which will not be subject to doubt, and the candidates themselves will be all will like).

And there is also an important question: who controls the moratorium on the temporary ban on the development of AI China and Russia? And if more sanctions can be imposed on the Russian Federation, China is very actively involved in the negotiating of neurotromes, and it is not so easy to get out of the saddle.

And most importantly, where is the guarantee that other countries will follow this "pause"? And who will hurt the pause to continue the same IT giants, as they say, to continue working on the si, so that they do not keep up with competitors? The main argument in favor of "Danger AF for humans" commentators also spread into the fluff and gunpowder, citing specific data of surveys of machine -learning researchers conducted by AI Impacts.

According to these data, only 24% of experts are estimated as "very good" capabilities of modern neurotromes, and the rest of the ratings ranges at the "good" level (26% of respondents), "neutral" (18% of specialists) and "very bad" (14% experts). Some people in the comments point out that modern chatbots on the basis of AI are far from the first time they can answer them a seemingly simple question.

In general, the proposal of the mask and a group of his supporters, which also includes Steve Wozniak, commentators are evaluated as hysterical and retained evolution. One of the critics made a vivid analogy between the "panickers" of the terms and the opinion of one official he expressed during the Covid-19 pandemic: "This quarantine is just 2 weeks. We just need to knock down the wave.
