Some residents of the capital prepare "nuclear backpacks" and search for a shelter in case of nuclear stroke. This is stated in the material of the American edition of The Washington Post. Journalists say that despite the forecasts of military experts and the statements of the Pentagon that nuclear strike is unlikely, for many residents of Kiev it is enough to have at least some plans in case of unforeseen circumstances.

Among such citizens, the resident of Kiev Sergey Dmitruk, who has already collected a "nuclear backpack" with sufficient supply and survival devices within a week. The man put enough dry food and water there to have enough for a week, as well as a thermal underwear, a gas stove, a sleeping bag, a tablet of iodine, a clench device that turns on a flashlight, an FM radio and a charger.

There is also a compass to determine the wind direction and the radio to stay in touch with the same prepared friends. "Now everyone believe that there will be no nuclear war. But if Russia wants, it will do it. It is good to be prepared," he said. Another Kiev, Pavel Hook, collected the same backpack and now equips the basement of his house. He also rented the house in the countryside, planning to equip it with a generator, food and fuel.

He is worried that friends and relatives who have waved the threat will die because they did not take similar precautions. Natalia Sulima is worried about what can part with her 5-year-old son Mouse. Therefore, he explains to him how to behave properly in the case of air anxiety. In his backpack Natalia put food, her favorite toy and a book. "I can't believe we have to do it. The authors of the publication note that there are already a network of nuclear shelters in Kiev in the form of a subway system, which was built during the USSR during the Cold War, given the deepest Arsenal station in the world, located at a depth of more than 100 meters. According to the governor of Kyiv region Alexei Kuleba, the authorities prepare 425 shelters for those who live outside the city, equip them with food, water and radio equipment.
