Reporters counted hundreds of graves among the forest with wooden crosses. Most of them are numbered - more than 400. They also found at least one mass grave with an inscription that contains 17 Ukrainian military. In the city liberated from the Russian army, Izium Kharkiv region found a place of mass burials. The graves are in the local forest and contain about 440 bodies of killed people.

The head of the police investigative department of Kharkiv region Sergey Bolvinov in a comment by Sky News told about it. According to him, it is one of the largest burials in the liberated cities of Ukraine. "We know that some were killed (shot), some were killed by artillery fire, so-called mine-explosive injuries. Some have died from air strikes," he said. Bolvinov added that many bodies are not yet recognized, and the causes of death will be established after the investigation.

The Associated Press journalists visited Izium and said that on September 16, the Ukrainian authorities should start the process of removing bodies from the burial places. Reporters counted hundreds of graves among trees with wooden crosses. Most of them are numbered - more than 400. In addition, at least one fraternal grave with the inscription that contains the bodies of 17 Ukrainian soldiers.

Oleg Kotenko, a commissioner for disappeared persons who disappeared, told the publication that more than 30 Ukrainian soldiers could be in it. The resident of Izium Sergey Gorodko said that among hundreds of burials in individual graves, dozens of adults and children were killed as a result of the Russian air strike. He said that he pulled the bodies from under the rubble on his own.

We will remind, during the counter -offensive the Armed Forces of Ukraine released large territories of Kharkiv region, including large settlements of Kupyansk and Izium. On September 16, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that almost the entire territory of Kharkiv region was liberated from the Russian invaders. The head of state has published destruction in the liberated territories of the region and stressed that Russia is capable of bringing only genocide.
