In parallel with the launch of ballistic missiles, shelling of 500 kilograms or kilograms. In parallel with psychological pressure and intimidation, compromising countries - Western partners - and incitement of internal nationalist sentiment, the spread of fakes and misinformation. Russia's war against Ukraine has shown - such a phenomenon as war in one territory or in one reality, no longer exists. The third millennium war is a hybrid war.
Crosssector and cross -scenery, even without the physical crossing of the border. And one of the most indispensable, but accurate components is the war on cyberfront. Today, we are undoubtedly dealing with the world's first cyberspace war in which it is not necessary to be involved in a particular territory, to be a military or even a professional hacker. It is enough to be able to use your computer basicly and follow simple instructions.
To ignore the cyber threats that are relevant today for all "unfriendly to Russia" countries are voluntarily handing over weapons. Russia is fighting for the spread and domination of its false reality (physical and virtual) in all possible ways. From now on, Europe and the world are facing new cyber threats that require proactive actions and strategic decisions.
One of this year's powerful dialogue in this direction, to which I was able to join, was the European Conference by European Cyber Agora 2022 from Microsoft, Marshall Foundation and EU Cyber Direct. This event, uniting the representatives of the EU-Institute, Natsules, Cybersecurity Agencies, has shown-now, working as a single block, we have to analyze the lessons of success in the field of cybersecurity and cybersecurity in the context of war in Ukraine, and therefore Europe.
When the first hackers began in 1834, the telegraph systems were broken and stolen information about the financial market. A century later, British encrypters developed a mechanism for breaking the German enigma codes. After 30 years, the first computer virus appeared, and in the 80's the CIA undermines the Siberian gas pipeline, inserting a special code into the network and a computer system that controls the gas pipeline.
After 10 years, a 15-year-old guy manages to break the US Defense and NASA Ministry of Defense systems. In all these periods, hacking had different appearance and different goals - from entertainment to theft of finances. As the technological era approaches and globalization, the bets were raised. The object of attacks became national databases and simultaneous impact on the masses. Search or call gadgets have turned into repositories of countless terabytes.
Cyberattacks began to turn into an imperceptible weapon of instant damage. Massive preparation for a large -scale invasion of cyberspace was carried out on January 14, 2022. 22 state bodies and 70 Ukrainian websites have been attacked within one day. The reports that hackers placed on the pages intimidated by Ukrainians and undermined trust and compromised Poland. Many attacks were synchronized with rocket strokes and ground offensive.
This indicates that the war on cyberfront is an integral part of the modern full -scale war. Virtual reality has become a full -fledged battlefield and, although Ukraine has demonstrated that it could cope with cyberrataks, we are faced with a serious challenge - overcoming the human factor, the peculiarities of the human psyche and natural fear. Fear blocks the ability to think rationally, and any riots on cyberfront (like others, undoubtedly) can cause panic.
Especially when most of the services have already been transferred to online-board, there are hundreds of registers with personal data. In general, before the beginning of a large -scale invasion, Ukrainian society was not aware of the scale that the Russian cybersychological war gained. We have become more of war more than we could think about it. And this is the greatest threat. Today, the victory of Ukraine in the virtual plane has become an important step towards the victory of the actual.
And it is worth noting that the human brain does not separate the real and virtual. Without advanced critical thinking and without skills to analyze and evaluate all boundaries erased. Today, Russia leads not only to real offline war, but also wars against each of us in the information space, manipulating basic fears. Such manipulations are a potential threat to people who are already emotionally and physically exhausted by the months of the total war.
And it becomes easier to do this when people for one reason or another neglect the basic safety measures. And the reason for neglect not only in the attitude, but also in real circumstances, such as fatigue, burnout, etc. Creating an ecosystem and demonstrating cyberspace victories is not a self -sufficient environment, but only a human life. However, today we are dealing with technologies that cover several levels of society at once.
Among them are microstructures - the individuals and technologies we use in daily life; Meso-structures-companies that use IT systems in their activities; Macrostructures-National Organs, together with banking, tax, medical spheres, industrial industries, military security structures that use IT systems and operate with arrays of data.
The coverage and integration into our daily life and life of the whole country are so large -scale that in the conditions of war they need special attention and complex, comprehensive involvement of national and international institutions, representatives of technical giants, other organizations and businesses. A powerful example of effective work in the conditions of the most difficult circumstances is the activity of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
Minister Mikhail Fedorov, with his active leadership position, openness and orientation to the result, attracted hundreds of thousands of indifferent people from IT sphere, small and medium-sized business, digital giants and even the richest person of the world in the struggle for the victory of Ukraine (and all civilized values) Mask with its satellite Internet systems Starlink.
This proves once again that Leadership and Vision Can Change The World and the most important thing is to save human lives. As a result of the aggressive, invading actions of the Russian totalitarian regime, the first world cyberwar was started, and given the human aspect, it is safe to call a war in cyberspace cybersychological war. Today we are seeing the full dominance of the democratic forces of Western civilization with Ukraine in the forefront of cyberspace.
It is important to create a single ecosystem with cyber defense that will work at the local and global levels, as well as to constantly demonstrate victories in this field and efficiency of the ecosystem itself. This should be a plan to prevent the impact of cyber threats on the human psyche, the occurrence of fear or panic and the harmful consequences of these conditions in the future. This is a question that needs to be addressed immediately by digital establishment of the whole world.
Every minute of delay is a human life. The introduction of any new technologies is stress, a sense of threat, as well as the emergence of basic human fear-unknown. It is difficult for society that has been accustomed to something for years. Innovations cause discomfort and often indignation, because they turn on emotions, not diets. And this is an important reminder that cybersecurity is primarily about people, not just technologies. It is a tool of interaction between people.
