Suspected of espionage: Montenegro sends the employees of the Russian Embassy

" Several sources in law enforcement agencies have told reporters that the investigation is conducting two citizens of Montenegro, six employees of the Russian Embassy and several Russian citizens. According to ROBJEDA, about 30 Russians who live temporarily in Montenegro were suspected. Soon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared Non Grat of six employees of the Russian Embassy, ​​they will be deported from the country.

The Russian Embassy in Pidgorica stated that "because of the enemy actions of the authorities of the republic" the activity of the consular department of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Montenegro was suspended indefinitely. The Special State Prosecutor's Office reported that no one was detained during the searches. However, Prime Minister Dritan Abazovich announced the arrest of several people. "The action was planned a little earlier and started last night," he said.

"A few people were arrested this morning. " According to the media, the operation was organized by the National Security Agency and was carried out at the order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office. At the same time, interlocutors of Montenegro law enforcement agencies say that today's action is part of an international operation. Officially, the ANB was not answered at the request of whether several people were arrested on suspicion of espionage.

Sources claim that, according to the ANB, one of the suspects - a state administration employee - has been working for Russian special services for more than ten years while entering a large group. All members of the group are already known. The former spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radomir Sekulovich, who held this position during the existence in 2003-2006 of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, among the suspects.

He worked at the diplomatic service for over 30 years, starting his career in the former Yugoslavia. The investigation considers them to be the GRU staff. On May 19, 2016, the NATO Headquarters in Brussels signed a protocol on the accession of Montenegro to the Organization of the North Atlantic Treaty.
