"In special cases": in the State Border Service told how many visas were issued to citizens of the Russian Federation

After the start of a full -scale war, Ukraine introduced a visa regime with Russia. However, receiving visas for Russians does not guarantee entry into the territory of Ukraine. Since the introduction of a visa regime from the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian side has issued 10 visas for Russian citizens. This was reported by a spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko in a comment to the publication of the UP.

The main reason for issuing visas to Russian citizens is the humanitarian reasons. Demchenko also noted that only 7 out of 10 Russians exercised their right to enter the territory of Ukraine. Among the arrived 5 women and 2 men. "As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported earlier, in 4. 5 months of visa regime 10 visas were issued for Russian citizens.

We see that the number of permits issued is quite small, and they are issued only in special cases when it is related to the humanitarian component," - Says a spokesman. The SSSU also told that the Ukrainian border was crossed mainly by the elderly or those who went to Ukraine for family reunification. "We will continue to carefully check all citizens of the Russian Federation who plan to get into the territory of Ukraine," Andrey Demchenko said.

It should be reminded that in Ukraine the visa regime with the Russian Federation has officially started as of July 1, 2022. The final decision to cross the border is made by representatives of the Border Service of Ukraine. Focus also reported that the European Union abolished the agreement according to which citizens of the Russian Federation had the right to simplify visa with EU countries. Since September 12, 2022, the Russians have to pay more and wait longer.
