"Russians deliberately damaged the dam": the flood will help the Russian Federation complicate the counter -offensive of the Armed Forces - isw

According to the Institute of War Study, the Kremlin uses the undermining of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station to reinforce propaganda about the "failure" offensive of Ukrainian troops. At the same time, analysts did not find the material benefit of destruction of the station for Ukraine. Despite the denial of Russian officials, it is most likely that the Kakhovsky hydroelectric power plant in the Kherson region was blown up by the occupiers.

This is stated in the report of the American Institute of War Study (ISW) of June 6. Analysts have indicated that Ukraine has accused of the premeditated destruction of the dam of the military of the Russian Federation, and the aggressor country declared the responsibility of the defenders. According to the Americans, hostile officials are designed to support attempts to depict the offensive of Ukrainian forces as a failure.

In particular, the words of the Presidential President Dmitry Peskov in the material were called a "unlikely explanation" because the large -scale contradiction of the Armed Forces has not yet begun. "Russian officials seem to be increasingly trying to immediately characterize Ukrainian offensive efforts as a failure and probably decided to use their accusations against Ukraine against the Dam of the HPP to strengthen these information efforts," the report said.

ISW stated that they have not yet found clear evidence and could not give an independent assessment of responsibility for the destruction of hydroelectric power plants. However, the institute confirmed that according to their estimates, Ukraine had no material interest in the dams of dams.

"Isw also appreciated that, on the contrary, Russia can use the flood to expand the Dnieper River and complicate Ukrainian counter -offensive attempts because of the already complex water structure," analysts informed. With reference to published videos of June 6 and the statements of Russian bloggers, Americans reported that water washed away the positions of defenders near the shore of the Dnieper and forced the formation of evacuation when the enemy fired at artillery.

"Currently, ISW cannot give a final assessment of responsibility for the incident on June 6, but believes that the balance of evidence, reasoning and rhetoric indicates that the Russians deliberately damaged the dam," the report wrote. We will remind, Dmitry Peskov stated that all the responsibility for undermining the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station is allegedly bearing Ukrainian authorities.
