The Regional Director of the World Bank for Eastern Europe ARUP Bannerji said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine. According to him, the invasion of Russia into Ukraine is a tragedy that has serious human and economic consequences. "According to our estimates, another 8 million Ukrainians were over the border of poverty compared to the pre -war period. That is, the country was rejected 15 years ago in achieving its goals to reduce poverty," he said.
At the same time, ARUP Bannerji believes that Ukraine has demonstrated extreme resistance in the fight against the aggressor. According to the banker, this was made possible by several factors, namely: "Ukraine managed to balance the efforts to increase competition and economically efficiency with the protection which reduced the government's budgetary opportunities, ”Bannerji explained. At the same time, he acknowledged that Ukraine needs serious funding.
But the main thing for our country now is to determine the priority costs, and then effectively, transparently and effectively manage the process of using funds. "There are many details that the Ukrainian authorities have to work through their partners in terms of new, optimized processes. Processes that minimize bureaucracy, but also allow you to manage the risks associated with huge costs over a very short period of time," - said ARUP BANERGI.
We will remind, the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) calculated the indicator of income for 2022, which is taken into account when calculating pensions.
