The MF Hydra ferry is more than 82 meters long and up to 300 passengers and 80 vehicles, virtually no carbon, which greatly helps to preserve the environment. According to LMG Marin engineers, which created this project, annual carbon emissions of such a ferry are 95% less than that of ordinary ferries of similar loading. The capacity of the liquid hydrogen tank is 80 cubic meters, and the ferry itself was built by the Norwegian ship.
Hydrogen fuel systems from the German company Linde Engineering is very reliable and repeatedly tested in other projects. In addition to the hydrogen engine, the ferry system uses two fuel elements with a capacity of 200 kW, two generators with a capacity of 440 kW and two traction screws of Shottel. The ferry will still swim a triangular route between the Norwegian Hjelmeland, Skipavik and NESVIK.
