"Killed at least 10 Russian soldiers": journalists learned how the guerrillas fought from the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Kherson

The NYT publication spoke with the participants of the Ukrainian underground in the regional center, which told how they tracked the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and transmitted information of the Armed Forces. Some residents formed assault groups and fired at the Russians at night. Guided by contacts in Ukrainian special services, Kherson residents formed mass resistance during the occupation to prevent attempts to keep the city.

Seniors, students, mechanics and other residents became active supporters of the Kherson underground. About it reports the newspaper The New York Times. The journalists spoke with the underground participants who told how they shot secret videos with the deployment of Russian troops and sent them to the Armed Forces with coordinates on the map. They used code names and passwords to spread weapons and explosives directly under the nose of the Russians.

Some even formed small assault groups that shot Russian soldiers at night, creating fear and paranoia among the invaders. 64-year-old Dmitry Yermolenko said that in the first days of occupation he and his wife announced to collect information from his area about Russian troops to hand it to Ukrainian fighters. He had contact with them due to links with local territorial defense.

According to him, every day they received dozens of videos, audio files and texts with the location of Russian troops moving the city - how many were, on what technique and in what direction they moved. All this was incredibly dangerous, but a large number of people were ready to do so. Subsequently, the man met with a successful entrepreneur with whom they tracked Russian patrols on a boat. In addition, he felt that he was drawn into a more dangerous role.

According to him, he began to receive encoded messages from contacts in the weapon resistance network. The messages were fragmentary - code name, location, password. His work was to move the assault rifles, cartridges and grenades from one place to another. In the end, they were handed over to agents of Ukrainian forces undercover who were imperceptibly leaked back to Kherson, or members of the underground territorial defense forces.

Dmitry Yermolenko's 18-year-old grandson Valentin also joined underground. He and three more people at night pursued Russian soldiers. According to him, the invaders were inattentive and did not pay attention to the movements around them. The guy claims that his team killed at least 10 Russian military. Valentin Yermolenko said that they were horrified at the beginning. But soon they were used to shooting the invaders closely and to tear their weapons from their still warm bodies.

We will remind, on December 24 the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation fired at the center of Kherson with the help of "Grads". As a result, 10 civilians were killed, and another 55 people were injured. Earlier, on December 15, analysts from the Institute of War Study reported that the underground Ukrainian network helps to destroy Russian troops in Donetsk. In particular, the guerrillas report the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
