"Historical Step": In the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces, how many combat aircraft have (video) they have

The Air Force spokesman Yuri Ignat noted that the transfer of outdated fighters should be a sign for Western allies that it was time to move to the next step in the Armed Forces. The Air Force spokesman Yuri Ignat told how many fighters have already been handed over to Ukraine by Western allies. He answered this question on the air of Kyiv TV channel on Monday, April 3.

According to him, today in the reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine there are five brigades of Su-27 fighters and mig-29, which we were able to obtain through the help from the western partners of Kiev. "This is a historical step-the transfer of such weapons to Ukraine. We have three crews of such aircraft today. There are five brigades of fighters: two Su-27 and three brigades and three-a mig-29.

These are the old Soviet fighters of the fourth generation that are morally and physically obsolete ", - said Yuri Gnat. However, despite their possibilities, the transfer of this weapon is a positive sign for other countries that have not yet decided on the decision. "This is a sign for others that you need to take the second and third step. What involves the following steps? Transfer of modern advanced aviation platforms," the Air Force spokesman stressed.

On April 3, the President of Poland Andrzej Duda said that Ukraine had already received the first Polish MiG-29 fighter jets. Martzin Pshidach notes that the transmission process is completed, but negotiations on further support of the Armed Forces, including aviation, are preparing between the leaders of the two countries. In total, Poland has 28 MiG-29 fighters, but they have no radars. Another 15 aircraft were upgraded a few years ago.

On March 30, it was reported that the first Slovak MiG-29SA fighters are already protecting the sky over Kharkov. During his speech in the Slovak Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratyukova stated that the planes were already performing combat missions. Ukraine received 4 out of 13 MiG-29. On March 31, Yuri Ignat noted that Ukraine will receive the 5th generation aircraft in the future, but before that the transition period must take place.
