The Russian Defense Ministry has disclosed plans to increase the army to 1.5 million soldiers: what is known

It is reported that the increase in the number of Russian troops will continue for three years - from 2023 to 2026. It will be synchronized with the supply of weapons, the increase of military equipment, as well as with the construction of the necessary infrastructure. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced large -scale changes in the Russian army in the next three years.

During the meeting with his deputies, the Head of the Defense Office announced an increase by 2026 of the Russian Armed Forces to 1. 5 million servicemen. This was announced on January 17 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. Shoigu stressed that all measures should be combined into a comprehensive plan of increasing the composition and number of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, the increase in the number of troops will be synchronized with the supply of weapons, military equipment, the availability of material means, as well as with the construction of the necessary infrastructure for the placement of troops. "It is guaranteed to ensure the military security of the state, to protect new entities and critical objects of the Russian Federation is possible only by strengthening the key structural components of the Armed Forces," the statement said.

To strengthen the key components, it is planned: the defense department of the aggressor country plans to increase the number of landfills in military districts and in the "territories of new entities of the Russian Federation", as well as to increase the number of cadets of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in training centers. Appropriate funding will be provided to realize this goal. Earlier it was reported that Russia is planning to create a two -million army.
