The Russian Flag is banned: the court in Berlin allowed the demonstration of flags of Ukraine for May 8 and 9

Lawyer Patrick Heinemann stated that anyone has decided to exercise the fundamental right to publicly declare themselves as a Ukrainian could not be a threat to public security. The Berlin Administrative Court abolished the ban on the demonstration of the Ukrainian flag on Soviet memorials on May 8 and 9, but the flag of the Russian Federation remained prohibited. About it reports Public Radio Berlin and Brandenburg (RBB).

It is reported that local law enforcement officers have recently banned the flags of the Russian Federation and Ukraine around the USSR memorials in Trepti Park, Tirgarten and Schoenholtser Haidy Park. After that, the Ukrainian Association "Viche" filed a complaint in court. After the meeting on May 5, she was able to revoke such a decision.

Lawyer Patrick Heinemann, who represented "Viche" in court, stated that anyone had decided to exercise the fundamental right to publicly state themselves as a Ukrainian and to mention historical victims in victory over national socialism, it could not be a threat to public safety. The court also recognized it. However, it is reported that Russian flags are still forbidden to demonstrate.

In addition, slogans that glorify or approve the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine cannot be chantable. The material states that Berlin police still have the opportunity to challenge the court's decision in the High Administrative Court of Berlin-Brandenburg. It should be reminded that the decision to ban the show of the Ukrainian flag was made by Berlin law enforcement officers in 2022.

As the then Ambassador of Ukraine in Germany Andriy Melnyk said, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Germany made the wrong decision that makes it doubt Ukraine in support of Ukraine by the Germans. It was also reported that in March 2023 in Germany fined the Russian for a T -shirt with the letter "Z". According to journalists, the man received a t -shirt as a gift from a friend.
