As of January 2023, according to analysts, the Russian Federation increased the number of nuclear missiles from 1588 to 1674. The Russian Federation increases the number of nuclear warheads deployed as geopolitical relations deteriorate. This follows from the report of the Stockholm Institute for Peace Problems Research (SIPRI).

"Nine nuclear powers - the US, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, China, India, Pakistan, North Korea and Israel - continue to modernize their nuclear arsenals and some of them have launched new nuclear -charged weapons in 2022 or capable of carrying them" , - says Sipri report. In January 2023, out of 12 512 nuclear warheads, approximately 9576 were in warehouses for potential use, which is 86 units more than in January last year.

Of these, approximately 3844 were deployed on rockets and aircraft, and about 2000 (almost all of Russia or the US) were in a state of increased combat capability - they were equipped with rockets or strategic bombers. Recall that the heads of the Ministry of Defense of Russia and Belarus were signed on May 25 in the Minsk Agreement on the placement of nuclear weapons. It will use a weapon or not, Moscow will decide.
