This is stated in a communique published on the EC website on Tuesday, September 6. According to the EU EU EU EU Commissioner, Ilva Johansson, a new visa regime will take effect on Monday, after approval of the proposal by the EU Council.
He envisages: Johansson noted that the European Commission will soon develop additional instructions for updating the visa regime with the Russian Federation, noting in this context that the EU would not want to "restrict from Russian dissidents and civil society. " As of September 1, 2022, about 963 thousand Russians had current visas to the Schengen area, added to the EC.
