European integration is part of Ukraine's defense in the war against Russia - Igor Zhovkva

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Igor Zhovkva met with the political director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden by Torbuorn Solstrom. The parties discussed the security situation in Ukraine and the region given the continuous open aggression of Russia against our country. Igor Zhovkva thanked Sweden for the leadership, political and practical support of our country from the beginning of armed confrontation.

A special role in the protection of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the return of temporarily occupied territories is played by the accession of Sweden to the so -called tank coalition and the allocation of 11 military assistance packages. The main attention was paid to the chairman of Sweden in the EU Council and the dynamics of its priorities.

The parties have died in detail on the state of implementation of Ukraine's recommendations of the European Commission needed to acquire membership in the EU. In this context, diplomats coordinated further steps for the next three months of the Swedish presidency to accelerate the European integration of our country. “We are grateful to Sweden for their considerable efforts to support and lobby with European partners of Ukraine integration into the EU.

The Ukrainian state demonstrates significant progress in implementing the recommendations of the European Commission for the acquisition of full membership by our state. We are counting on a fair assessment of Ukraine's success in this direction, as well as a clear plan for further action for entry into the EU. European integration is part of Ukraine's defense in the war against Russia, ”the Presidential Deputy Head of the Presidential Office said.

The interlocutors exchanged views on efficiency, current level, as well as expectations for Ukraine's support from the EU. In this context, Igor Zhovkva thanked Sweden for the vote to support the approval of the European Union of a joint plan of action in three directions, which will accelerate the supply of artillery ammunition to Ukraine and will provide replenishment of European reserves.
