In the US, real negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation are predicted by the end of 2023

According to the former head of the State Department Henry Kisinger, the negotiation process will be possible thanks to China's efforts. Former US Secretary of State, 99-year-old political scientist Henry Kisinger is convinced that Ukraine and Russia will sit at the negotiation table by the end of 2023. He stated this in an interview with CBS News, published on Sunday, May 7.

According to the political scientist, negotiations will be possible thanks to the politics of the People's Republic of China. "Now that China has come into negotiations, everything will be in place, I think, by the end of the year. We will talk about negotiation processes and even real negotiations," Kisinger said.

Western officials are convinced that negotiations between Kiev and Moscow will become possible as a result of the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the announced counter -offensive. The Wall Street Journal wrote on May 7 that China could plant Russia at the negotiation table.

Journalists believe that this option will be a kind of shift in thinking of the event, especially the United States, who critically perceived the idea of involving Beijing in a peaceful initiative because of his proximity to Moscow. In turn, the political scientist and philosopher from Stanford University Francis Fukuyama believes that real negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will be possible only after the full de -occupation of Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions.

We will remind, on May 2 the chairman of the Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Mark Millie stated that Russia had failed its strategic goals in the war in the territory of Ukraine and will be forced to negotiate. According to him, "rational" Russians have to understand the need for negotiations for two years.

On February 24, China's position on political settlement of the crisis in Ukraine was published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, which was called China's "peaceful plan" in the media. This plan consists of 12 points. The "peace plan" text states that the war in the territory of Ukraine should stop and begin peace negotiations and respect the sovereignty of all countries and comply with international laws, including the UN Charter.
