The Deputy Chief of Military Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Major General Vadim Skibitsky told this in an interview with Ukrinform, published on January 23. According to GUR representative, Russia is currently conducting a powerful information campaign against the population of Ukraine, trying to intimidate people and stretch the forces of the state. And statements about the future offensive from Belarus and attempts to capture Lviv are part of this plan.
"You see how many Russian analysts who are now working abroad are talking about 220,000th groups in Belarus, and they have recently said that 150 thousand have been launched there," Skibitsky explains. He emphasizes that there are no so many military people. Major-General is convinced that today in the neighboring country there were much less invaders than it was in February last year during a full-scale invasion.
At the same time, the Ukrainian forces prepared for different options for possible offensive of the Russians. In particular, in the northern part of Ukraine - at the border with Belarus - checked the preparation of units stationed there. In addition, the corresponding defensive borders were created in different areas, the air defense system, including Kyiv, says Skibitsky. "And if we now knock down enemy winged missiles, then believe me, knock down helicopters and planes is much easier," he added.
The GUR representative is convinced that in the past, Russia has also studied its mistakes. As a result, the occupiers are much better understood and evaluated by Ukraine's capabilities for defense of their territory. We will remind, in an interview with Delfi on January 20 Vadim Skibitsky stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is still alive because he is being treated with the best Western doctors.
