Departure from Ukraine with dual citizenship men: border guards explained the situation

Men with dual citizenship who have not legally lost it are considered citizens of Ukraine and cannot leave the country during martial law. The State Border Service has officially explained the rules for crossing the border for men with dual citizenship. The information appeared on the Official Page of the State Tax Service on Facebook.

According to representatives of the service, a person who has several citizenships, one of which is Ukraine, is considered a citizen of Ukraine in relations with Ukraine. In this case, a man aged 18 to 60 will not be able to go beyond Ukraine even in the presence of other citizenship, as it will be considered a citizen of Ukraine to be mobilized.

The exception is: "At the same time, use of a citizen of another country to cross the state border of Ukraine legally after issuing a decree of the President of Ukraine on the loss of such persons of citizenship of Ukraine," - reported in the State Border Service. The border guards also emphasized that according to the legislation of Ukraine, dual citizenship (ie citizenship of Ukraine and one or more countries) is not allowed in Ukraine.
