YouTube has closed the Radfed Channels of the Russian Federation: Vlad demands to block video hosting

Through sanctions, the administration has permanently removed from the platform more than 20 thousand records of meetings and other videos. On October 18, YouTube video hosting blocked the Board of the Federation of Russia. In response, the head of the Information Policy and Media Commission Alexei Pushkov demands that you close access to YouTube in Russia, and he told the Russian TASS agency details.

According to the Press Service of the Federation Council on Telegram, the platform blocked the account of the upper house of the Parliament and the related TV channel "Together-RF", which in total had about 200 thousand subscribers and 20 thousand videos, mostly broadcasting of meetings and events-they were all removed Without recovery in the future. According to Google's statement, video hosting owner, such a decision was made in connection with anti -Russian sanctions.

Alexei Pushkov claims that he had addressed the Roskomnadzor and the Prosecutor General's Office and asked to consider the possibility of blocking video hosting. To begin with YouTube can block for a while to make a "last warning" in connection with the blocking of Russian resources. Restrictions should be a response to the Federation Council Accounts.

Alexei Pushkov believes that the Russians should apply "tough measures" to YouTube, because the authorities cannot persuade the video hosting administration not to block the channels - such a fate has already beaten 60 accounts related to the Russian state institutions. Pushkov also called YouTube an ideological information project against Russia.

It seems that video hosting tries to influence the Russian audience and impose its policy, causing dependence on their own platform due to high popularity and large number of users. The head of the Radfed on Constitutional Legislation and State Building Andriy Klimas, for his part, is convinced that the closure of accounts will not lead to YouTube blocking in Russia. According to the senator, the Russians should develop their own online resources, TASS reports.

Andriy Klimov, Deputy Chairman of the Radfed Committee on International Affairs, shares the same opinion. He noted that many residents of Russia and organizations rely on YouTube in their work, so he called on to take care of the response. "We do not shoot and shoot ourselves and do not shoot. But it does not mean that we need to love all these foreign platforms, which means that we need to develop and promote our resources in digital space," the senator said.

Earlier, YouTube deleted more than 9,000 channels that tell fakes about war in Ukraine. In most cases, propagandists were called hostilities "liberation mission". They also wrote that Igor Ashmanov, a member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society and human rights, called YouTube strategic weapons and voiced the terms of possible blocking.
