The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev visited the Omsky Plant of Transport Mechanical Engineering, after which at a meeting with the management of the enterprise declared the need for modernization of "thousands" of tanks. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Russian official. A representative of the Kremlin leadership also spoke about the recent European visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
"As you know, yesterday the enemy cried there planes, missiles, tanks, being abroad, what should we do?" - the former President of the Russian Federation asked the rhetorical question and pointed out the need to modernize Russian tanks. "It is clear that in this case, it is natural for us to increase the production of different types of weapons, including modern tanks," the politician explained.
According to him, the question concerns the issue and modernization of existing armored vehicles, this task is prescribed in the state defense and follows from the decisions made by the Kremlin head Vladimir Putin. Recall that Poland will provide Ukraine with fighters, but not among the first countries. Prime Minister Mateusz Moravetsky reported that there was not enough aviation in the reserves of the country, but they have already placed orders for production.
