The Armed Forces may lose the supply of ammunition through a strike at a military enterprise in the United States - the media

According to journalists, there were differences between the leadership of the Iowa Army Ammunition and Trade Union workers, and the short -term stop of the plant seems inevitable. At the Army ammunition factory in the US state of Iowa, there are problems - a number of contracts with trade unions will be stopped on August 19, and 500 employees of 10 trade unions can leave their jobs. If no new contracts are signed, it may weaken the ammunition supply chains.

In addition, if the company stops its work for a long time, it can jeopardize the supply of critical ammunition to Ukraine. Forbes writes about it. It is reported that the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant belongs to the US Army and is governed by American Ordinance LLC. It produces several important types of ammunition for land fighting.

These are 40mm grenades, components for 60 mm, 81-mm and 120mm ammunition, mortar cartridges, 120mm tank ammunition, various types of shells for 155 mm gun 148 Javelin and FIM-92 Styinger. Army sources and contracts also indicate that an enterprise can produce M982 Excalibur warheads, mines, high -precision artillery ammunition and other special explosives.

Journalists point out that without trade union workers at the Second World War, there will be problems with the production of modern shells, grenades and charges that the United States needs. This will probably limit the flow of American ammunition to the Ukrainian front line. According to the publication, trade unions are dissatisfied with the level of remuneration, the conditions of insurance, the number of holiday days and the policy of the company regarding the Covid-19.

Trade unions and American Ordinance LLC are currently negotiating, but they are not easy. The short -term stop of the plant seems inevitable. But a long pause can have far -reaching consequences for the US, Ukraine and other Washington allies, which depend on ammunition supplied for land fighting. "No one but Russia wins if this key western ammunition facility will be removed for several months," the journalists write.

Recall that on August 4, Financial Times wrote that Ukraine can cancel special operations from the de -occupation of the Kherson region, if the event does not increase the supply of weapons and ammunition. In addition, journalists noted that there were not enough ammunition in the Ukrainian army. According to the media, the Armed Forces know all locations of warehouses and management points of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
