10 years for refusing to fight. Putin signed a military service package

Russian dictator Volodymyr Putin signed the laws on imprisonment for refusing to participate in hostilities, for voluntary delivery, for desertion and the absence of military personnel for conscription service. The corresponding document is published on the Russian official website of legal information.

According to the law, the unauthorized abandonment of a part or place of service or failure to see a good reason committed by a soldier who is conscript or contract, will be punished for five to ten years. Russia also introduces criminal liability for voluntary capture (from three to ten years) and criminal liability for looting (up to fifteen years).

Earlier, the State Duma introduced into the Criminal Code the concept of "mobilization", "martial law", "armed conflict". On September 21, Putin announced partial mobilization in Russia and stated that he would support fictitious "referendums" in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, and threatened with a nuclear blow in the event of a "threat of territorial integrity" of the Russian Federation.
