At the exhibition at Abu Dhab, Lockheed Martin emphasized her Hel systems Ahel, Helios, Helsi Demos, which operate depending on the tasks on land and at sea. For example, Helios is a naval laser with a built-in optical sensor that can "blind" hostile equipment. Not only does he knock down rockets and drones-Kamikadze flying into the ship, but can be used for exploration and observation. One of the advantages of laser systems is "low cost of murder", as noted in Lockheed Martin.

After all, the energy charge is much cheaper than a special ammunition for the destruction of the air goal. Such systems are actively installed today on US Navy warships. For its part, Raytheon Technologies promotes its own HEL technology - a high -energy laser armed system, or HELWS, which, she said, has already been put into operation by the US Air Force.

The company claims that its system has worked on the tests of more than 25 thousand hours and showed itself successfully, knocking down more than 400 drones of different types. According to representatives of the company, Helws is attacked by each drone individually, but after a short time required for the defeat of the purposes, in the scenario of battle with swarm drones, the laser lightly strikes one goal and immediately refer to the next one.
