Welcome, Russians: Turkish hotels accept "Mir" through services from the Russian Federation

Russian tourists enjoy a holiday at Turkish resorts as long as the war is underway. In Turkey, hotels have connected Russian payment services to receive Mir Cards. This was reported by the newspaper "Izvestia". According to the media, while most countries of the world are opposed to war in Ukraine and refuses to serve tourists from Russia, in October, five hotels in Turkey found a way to accept payment from the Russians by their cards.

For example, the Papillon Zeugma Relaxury Hotel uses Ziraat Bank services, but when he refused to work with peace, he connected the Sigma payment system, launched in the Russian Federation. Thanks to her, the payment is sent to the Russian bank, and he transferred money to the institution, taking into account the commission. Papillon Belvil became another hotel that made the Russian concessions.

Its representatives told "Izvestia" that with the help of one of the Russian services, vacationers from the Russian Federation can pay for cards not only "Peace", Visa and Mastercard, released in Russia. The hotel sets out the euro, and the payment terminal calculates the amount in rubles, applying the exchange rate 72-74 rubles for 1 euro. Nirvana hotel network shared that she also accepts the Mir maps, but did not reveal how operations are being conducted.

According to Izvestia, credit organizations from Russia have confirmed the implementation of transactions in Turkey after blocking the "peace" by local banks on September 27. The bank's mail stated that in October there were successful payments using Russian cards, but their total number was significantly reduced. On social networks, Russians write about how they managed to pay at the tourist points "Mir", in particular, in Cappadocia and Antalya.

Economist Alexei Fedorov from the Telectrade Center suggested that Turkish entrepreneurs open accounts in electronic systems, such as Payanyway, and conduct transactions with maps of Russian descent through them. Such services are usually required by the commission from 0. 7% to 2. 7%, ie 2–2. 5 times higher than for the implementation of ordinary international banking payments. Turkish banks stopped servicing the maps of the Russian Payment System "Mir" in September 2022.
