The State Border Protection of the Republic of Latvia began to send drones to its Ukrainian colleagues within the framework of the Grand Project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country. Currently, the border guards draw up all the necessary documents, check the devices and promptly deliver them to the units of the Army of Ukraine, which are most necessary.
"The modification of the drones provided is well known to our border guards, so effective use will not require additional training of operators," the State Border Service said. Judging by the photos published by the press service of the department, the Latvians provide Ukrainian troops with drones of DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise, which are really used by the Armed Forces. It is a civilian model designed to shoot, but the military uses it to be reconnaissance from the air and adjustment of fire.
Previously, they wrote what commercial drones the Armed Forces use. In addition to Mavic 2, operators start other models from DJI: Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 2 Zoom, Mavic 3, Phantom, Matrice Inspire 1. In August, the Armed Forces received a large Dzi Mavic 3 drones worth $ 14 million. These drones are equipped with a 4K camera. which transmits a video signal up to 15 km, which is very good for the commercial model.
