"We did it": PACE opposed the participation of Russians and Belarus in the Paris Olympics

The Assembly believes that the involvement of Russian and Belarussian athletes in the Olympic Games in the present environment can be used as a tool for propaganda Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on June 22, resolved the International Olympic Committee on June 22. The document also states that the absence of a corresponding strict prohibition encourages Russian citizens to believe that the world is ready to maintain ties with Russia, despite its military aggression against Ukraine. "Finally, the document contains a decisive call to the IOC and its sports bodies to prohibit the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, as well as in all other major sports events until the war against Ukraine.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe supported the Ukrainian "formula of peace" of President Vladimir Zelensky, NATO's membership, and approved a resolution on the political consequences of Russia of Russia against Ukraine.
