John Herbst was the US Ambassador to Ukraine from September 2003 to May 2006. He criticized the Kremlin's policy and participated in rallies in support of Ukraine. The former Ambassador of the United States of America to Ukraine, John Herbst, found symptoms of poisoning before the Russian Federation launched a full -scale war. About it reports the Atlantic Council on May 17.

The Analytical Center stated that in April 2021, John Herbst, who was also the Senior Director of the Eurasian Center of the Atlantic Council, became ill and had symptoms that could be associated with poisoning and high levels of toxins. However, according to the Atlantic Council, laboratory studies did not show the presence of toxic compounds in the blood of the diplomat.

"We contacted the authorities immediately during the illness of the Herbst Ambassador, but as a result of the audit we decided not to disclose the incident," - said the chief executive director of the Atlantic Council, Frederick Kempe. According to Newsweek, a few weeks after the full -scale invasion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, in March 2022, John Herbst said that the war had become a "real catastrophe" for the Russian president.

According to him, Putin "failed" in the war against Ukraine. Journalists noted that Herbst was the US Ambassador to Ukraine from September 2003 to May 2006. He criticized the Kremlin's policy and participated in rallies in support of Ukraine. The authors of the publication also write, referring to the Russian media that the diplomat could have become one of at least four people who were likely to poison the Russian special services.

We will remind that on February 13 Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov stated that in Russia they tried to send his assistant and commander of the special unit "Akhmat" Alaudinov. According to him, on February 8, Chechen Major General of the Police received a letter impregnated with poisonous substances. Earlier, on February 1, we wrote that Georgia's Explore Mikhail Saakashvili stated that he was poisoned and he needed treatment.
