The Russian Federation agreed to extend the grain agreement by breaking the contract: Ukraine reacted

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation reported that they agree to continue the grain agreement for such a short time because of certain "obstacles" for Russia that do not allow agricultural products. The delegation of the Russian Federation after negotiations with high -ranking officials of the UN stated that Moscow agreed to continue the "grain agreement", but only for 60 days.

This is stated in the statement of the deputy head of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin. The statement states that the Russian side does not deny the next continuation of the Black Sea initiative after the end of March 18, 2023. However, only 60 days, not 120 because of some "obstacles" for Russia that do not allow agricultural products. Vershinin also spoke about Russia's plans for future participation in the Black Sea Agreement.

"Our further position will be determined depending on the real, not in words, but in fact, progress on the normalization of our agricultural transport," - said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. According to him, it is about bank payments, transport logistics, insurance, "defrosting" of financial activity, as well as the supply of ammonia through the togliatti-Odesa pipeline. In Ukraine, the Russian side has already been reacted.

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov wrote on Twitter that, according to agreements, the Black Sea Grain Agreement continues for 120 days. Therefore, the proposal of the Russian Federation to continue the initiative for 60 days contradicts the contract. "We are waiting for the official position of the UN and Turkey as a guarantee of initiative," Kubrakov wrote.

The Black Sea initiative documents with Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the UN were signed in Istanbul on July 22, 2022. The July Agreement has created procedures for safe export of grain from certain ports to try to resolve the food crisis. Recall that the media reported that the EU continued personal sanctions against the Russian Federation for half a year. Sanctions imposed against almost 1500 individuals and 205 legal entities from Russia were continued for six months.
