She left Irpin, but not girls. Interview with activist Yulia Sporysh-about teenage sex and assistance to victims of violence during the war

Julia Sporysh (photo: Sporysh Yuliya / Facebook) Since 2019, a public organization has been engaged in enlightenment of teenage girls and prompted them to consciously build their life strategy. But with the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, the team has expanded its activity - it helps with evacuation, supports shelters, organizes kindergartens and rooms, provides psychological help. In addition, activists have now begun to rehab the victims of sexual abuse.

The founder and director of the NGO Julia Sporysh told what help the teenage girls need and what changed the war. - You teach girls to build a life strategy and help the victims of the war. Please decipher what kind of help is about? -We are called girls, because our target audience is a teenage girls, with whom we worked in two directions before the war. The first is enlightenment in women's physiology, contraception and the beginning of sexual life.

The second part is the motivation of girls to make their own money, to be economically independent. Our goal was that girls were economically involved, had a specialty and could be independent of parents, partners, state, anyone. This was concentrated on our main measures. With the beginning of the war . . . I am from Irpen. 24 [February] It all started in my eyes.

On February 27, when I was already abroad with my children, I began to help the residents of the Buchan district (Irpin, Bucha, Vorzel, Gostomel, Kotsyubynske) to leave the hot point then, [the territory] has not yet been occupied. And we started by giving money so people could leave. It was our first activity during this already full -scale invasion. Then they developed very quickly. We first help families with children.

Gradually, our projects were expanding, we asked for support from large donors. Now we work with several of them, we make a large number of projects - from the humanitarian to social, psychological rehabilitation of children and adults. There is legal assistance to the victims, reorientation, retraining women who have lost their work. We have very cool projections. In order for women to learn how to drive [car], we cover the costs in the driving school.

In many families, men at the front or TRO, there is a car in the family, and a woman is unable to drive. So we came up with a project - finance courses. In addition, we have a very large project for sexual violence victims - comprehensive social rehabilitation. My partners and my partners are helping to close the legal part of this [question]. There is support for shelters, there is a shelter in the Chernivtsi region, which we have rebuilt with partners from scratch. He is now taking 60 people.

We do a lot to support kindergartens, mini-gardens, children's rooms. When the state did not cope, we came, the public sector, and the state was replaced by the state in the direction of caring for children. - How can you manage so many directions? These are sometimes completely different tasks. Tell us a little about this management experience and your team.

How do you manage to keep so much indisputably important, but very different in their filling? - This is true, we really close almost all directions. We help with everything except medicine. My business experience came in handy here. I only created NGO 2019. Before that, I had a considerable career in Fintech: I had startups, I worked with the investment sector. The big management business background helps me very cool. Only two men work in the project, the rest - women, girls, most of them - IDPs.

We are a fully decentralized team. Historically, allegedly in Kiev, but now we all work from different places, from eight points in Ukraine we make projects for the whole of Ukraine. I have cool projectors who close each of their project, there are still sectoral coordinators. I will say so, I have such a small plant that produces the projects: each particle has its own manager, and I already manage the leaders.

- I remember, before a full -scale invasion, you told about things from a peaceful life - you could not be allowed to schools, because for some reason the administration could be considered to tell girls about gaskets - this is abnormal. Is this misunderstanding now? Did it grow, changed the forms, or vice versa, the Great War finally gave some awareness that people who want to help? - We are trained in our previous experience - we learn very well with our mistakes.

Now we are certification of the Ministry of Education for our projects before you go to school, so that there are no such problems. And we work a lot with parents before you go to the community, to school. We say, “Dear, we are girls. We have very cool tutors who have been trained in sexual education - gynecologists, sexologists, psychologists. We have an offer.

Wouldn't you be against you to come and read such lectures for your children? ” First, we collect Okay from our parents and then go to schools. The number of people who think that sex beads are bad and we teach at our lectures to have sex, steadily high. But I want to say: since everyone is busy survival, teenagers allegedly left alone with their problems. The number of requests has increased. War war, and teenagers are growing and their problems do not disappear.

Now they are in an even more stressful situation, they cannot ask their questions to someone who was trusted before. - How can teenagers be addressed? How is it usually going? Are you writing on social networks or come to you? - Everything is very simple. We work hard in communities. And we have regional coordinators there. They say: “This week we will have vocational testing. We invite all the high school students who want to go through, to find out what profession they fit the most.

” Next week we announce: "It will be an opportunity to listen to a lecture from contraception from a steep doctor Natalie Yaremchuk. " And so they respond. We also see requests on our Facebook, Instagram - [pages] open, you can write. We have a special communication that responds to the message - we all process them. If you need psychological help, you write at help@divchata.

org - briefly describe the problem, saying which city you are now, want to work online or offline and we are picking up a specialist for you. We also have open forms for the humanities. Fill in the form if you are a large family, IDP, single mother, we will help you. - What is the most important in the field of psychological help? How to help so that you are not harmful? -First, we are not volunteers, but help professionally.

This means that all the people who work in the projects of the girl receive a salary, they have been tested and selected. All the psychologists who work with us have a diploma, accurately interviewed. There is a category of child psychologists, there is - for adults. Each of the areas has its own supervisors that are responsible for the quality of the services we provide. Our psychologists regularly improve their skills, they have regular group and individual supervisions.

Children have the best specialists. If we lack someone, we recruit new people in the new regions, they are also selected, quality is controlled. We are also constantly in touch with our beneficiaries. They have a system of monitoring our customer's satisfaction, whether he or she really gets a service and whether or not there is an improvement.

But we see the best results when they write thanks - that the baby smiled for the first time in three months; or mom who was able to sleep for the first time in many months; a child who stopped going to go; The family conflict that has been resolved. The separation of families is now a very big problem - many women are turning with it. Someone has a loss in the family. We do not work volunteers and amateurs, and all employees are specialists in what they do.
