Russia will be ready to sit at the negotiating table when Ukraine goes to its borders - Podolyak

The adviser to the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak stated that Russia will be ready to sit at the negotiating table when Ukraine will reach its internationally recognized borders, identified in 1991. This was reported by the Presidential Office on Friday, August 26. In an interview with Helsingin Sanomat, Podolyak emphasized that negotiations with Russia, which puts forward unacceptable ultimatums, are impossible.

He noted that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin wants to return the Soviet Union, and Ukraine here is his main enemy, and our country's independence contradicts the worldview of the Kremlin. Video of the Day "Russia is really ready for peace only if it suffered significant tactical losses. Then she ceases to put forward ultimatums and is forced to listen to the arguments of others.

When Ukraine reaches the limits defined in 1991, then Russia will be ready to sit at the negotiating table and sign a peace treaty. This is the only chance to guarantee the liberal values and freedom of Europe, ”said the adviser of the OP chairman. According to Podolyak, Ukraine now negotiate with the aggressor country only about prisoners and other tactical issues.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that negotiations are possible only if the Russian troops leave occupied Ukrainian territories. At the end of June, Mikhail Podolyak stated that a peace treaty with Russia is possible when Ukraine will restore its territorial integrity.
