Because poetry, professional or amateur, but always emotional and sincere, in Ukraine, Ukrainians are created for any reason. Collections from the conditional category of poems of the war were often published, mostly by self -publishing, read at presentations, festivals, and others acceptable for this purpose. The authors themselves put them on music, gave solo concerts mostly for their wide circle-and all this lived about as much time as nature released the butterflies. It's not good and not bad.
It's just like a change in day, months, seasons, weather. It is one of the most natural creative processes. In our rich in poets, so accurately. With artistic prose, everything is much more complicated. No person has the right and is able to prohibit someone with a story on paper and offer to read. Like, however, in this case - the truth of the war is here.
With the beginning of the hot phase of the Russian invasion, the topic has become relevant again, and I already see in social networks not only of war participants, ready to write notes and even start the process. And not only the calls of their colleagues or just unfamiliar sympathizers for potential publishers. But in fact, publishers who recovered, laid wounds, slowly resumed production and seek something relevant, for the malice of the day, that is - wartime. They make a mistake.
It is also made by its prognosis-culturalists, expecting the emergence of a large layer of new names, capable of telling the experienced, seen, meaningful, and at the same time to put the experience of eyewitness and participant of real events in a procrasty bed of the plot, linear dramaturgy, comply with the laws of different genres. Learning to shoot and dig trenches is much easier than learning how to write novels, paintings, play on stage or shoot a movie.
It complicates the situation and an unfavorable circumstance that in peacetime science is mastered at special exercises either called into the army, or those who dreamed of being a military or reservation of Tro units from birth. That is, in relatively peacetime there is an option who studied. But when your country is in danger, you have to study on the go, what I didn't even think yesterday. Engaged in a favorite thing, for example - creativity, and developing in the process.
That is why creative people, who since 2014 and so far at different times and different ways have participated and participated in hostilities, are in a more profitable position than their combat brothers. I have the benefit of the ability to give a new experience of an acceptable form for the story. Only one such example is mentioned so far. In 2015, writer Artem Czech was mobilized and served in the ATO area. He made notes there, and after demobilization he published them a book called zero.
You say that many fighters keep diaries - and you will be right. However, for others, it is often the first experience of writing in general, while the Czech was already a professional writer at the time. Because of this, his non -artistic book has all the features of a structured work of art. To give on a word, a product that book lovers are used to consuming. Now Artem Czech is also on the front, and after the victory, it is quite possible to appear not a new diary format, but a military novel.
Predicting the appearance of the array of artistic prose in the war of appropriate themes, we usually make two mistakes. The first is the mention of the so -called "Lieutenant prose", which is known for Soviet literature after World War II. There are works about war written by frontlines, direct participants in the fighting, who went to the front of the young and received younger officers. Although not all of them were officers, I will repeat, everyone saw the war close.
So she distinguished this prose not to the heroic victorious progress, but above all to military everyday life. But with the obvious change of tone, as they would say today-other than cheers-patriotic, the format of conditional lieutenants was still forced to consider the Soviet censorship framework. Or, too, they probably believed in the Soviet power, recognized Lenin's case with beautiful and useful, and Stalin times - only an unfortunate mistake.
And the creators of the lieutenant prose had party tickets. Therefore, they should not be compared to potential prospective prose writers from the war veterans with Russia. Completely different circumstances, completely different beliefs. The number two error is an appeal to Erich Maria Remark and Ernest Hemingway. These names are first called when it comes to qualitative analogues of novels about the war. Yes, Remark is a participant in the First World War.
But his own front experience described in only one novel - on the Western front unchanged. By the way - not the first. Remark was already written and published earlier, the writer was not under the influence of war. Everything else is about returning from the war and overcoming PTSD, life in the interwar period, during Hitlerism, emigration and post -war Germany. The Second World War appears directly in two novels.
But the author did not fought on the Eastern Front, as a hero of time to live and die and did not sit in a concentration camp like the heroes of a spark of life. So, talking about personal experience described in two of the best military works is wrong. Instead, Hemingway, although he served in the army during the First World War, was mostly bored in the rear, though he was constantly rushing to the front, finally achieving his own and was, as well as a remark, wounded.
However, in your novel goodbye, weapons! He described not his story, but summarized what he saw. He wrote the most famous on whom he wrote not as a participant in the Civil War in Spain, but as an observer. That does not completely negate the virtue of neither the work nor the author, does not make the work insincere, especially - fictional.
So, Remark, Hemingway and other authors of the best books on military topics have always mixed a considerable amount of not seen personally, but personally meaningful, digested, reflected. Military reporting and military novel are written from different positions, different methods and for different purposes. The military correspondent will not always write on the basis of his publications or his own video.
But a writer who was not on the front always takes other people's reports as the basis of his works. The authors of historical novels also work. They study the documents that testify to the chosen era, are transferred there, carefully treat the details - and then reproduces the chosen time of the chosen century for the reader. Umberto Eco, born in 1932, could not live in the medieval monastery, but it was described in his name skillfully.
And Pierre Limet, born in 1951, could not participate in the First World War-however, his novel about the events of the First World Goodbye there, on the mountain, was called realistic and celebrated a prestigious Honkur Prize. Despite expectations for their own lieutenants, remarks and Hemingweys in Ukraine, a little artistic prose has been written about this war in eight years of war. And it is significant that professional writers were best created.
Those who have not fought but actively volunteered and volunteered, or are a public lawyer of Ukraine in Europe. It is about the boarding school of Sergiy Zhadan, the dots of Tamara of nut grain and the gray bees Andrei Kurkov. And Natalka Vorozhit wrote from the experience of active communication with the prototypes of her characters. Therefore, the front lines, our hero warriors are not always potential authors of explosive prose.
