Fast departure of the Armed Forces of tanks and armored vehicles: in ISW called the way of blasting the combat capability of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

According to the American Institute of War Study, the Russian military lost almost half of the T-72 tanks in battles and rely on old equipment. The Army of Ukraine can go on a counter -offensive, but the help of the West is needed. The ability of the Russian army to conduct mechanized fighting in Ukraine will significantly decrease if the event sends tanks and armored vehicles in time. This is stated in the report of the American Institute of War Study (ISW) of February 15.

Analysts say that Russia is trying hard to restore defense production in the near future. The Ukrainian soldiers can start a large -scale counterfeit in the next few months, according to the report. "But the ability (Ukraine) to do it depends largely on the speed and scale with which the event gives it tanks and armored vehicles," the ISW emphasized.

According to the Institute, the Russian military lost in the battles in Ukraine almost 50% of T-72B and T-72B3M tanks, as well as a large part of the T-80 tanks. Now they are forced to rely on older equipment. "Some Russian defense enterprises complain about the lack of intensive work. In the near future, Moscow is unlikely to increase the opportunities of the Russian defense industry for rapid and large -scale tanks production.

It is not yet possible to influence the result of the current Russian offensive or the counter -offensive of the Armed Forces, experts summed up. We will remind that the Minister of Defense of Germany Boris Pistorius on February 15 declared the complexity of transferring the tanks of Leopard 2 for the Ukrainian army. The number of tanks may not be enough for 2 divisions. The German edition of Die Welt wrote about the exit of the Netherlands and Denmark from the tank coalition on February 15.
