Zambia Foreign Minister Stanley Kakubo stated that Moscow had reported the death of Zambian prisoner Lemmekhan Nyrenda in September, but did not provide any details. The Zambia student has been imprisoned since April 2020 in the Middle Security Prison on the outskirts of Moscow after he was found guilty of violating Russian legislation.
"The Zambia government appealed to the Russian authorities to urgently provide information about the circumstances in which a citizen of Zambia, who was being imprisoned in Moscow, could be recruited to participate in hostilities in Ukraine," Stanley Kakubo said. The father of the victim in the war in Ukraine told that he did not know who called him into the army. He added that the 23-year-old guy studied nuclear engineering at Moscow University.
However, he was convicted and imprisoned for nine years and six months for the spread of drugs, working as a courier. According to him, the boy was given a drug with drugs, but the police could not find the person who handed it away.
