In order to identify the persons of fallen Ukrainians, law enforcement officers sent unknown bodies to the Mykolaiv Regional Bureau of Forensic Expertise. In the territory of the Mykolaiv region in the city of Snihurivka, law enforcement officers found a place of burial of people who died during the Russian occupation. This was reported on May 4 by the press service of the Attorney General's office.

"In the procedural leadership of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, investigative and operative measures are continued to identify and document war crimes committed by representatives of the Armed Forces of Russia in the territory of the Nikolaev area," the agency notes.

Thus, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General, in the city of Snihurivka, the Bashtansky district was discovered by the bodies of a 63-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, as well as the remains of bodies of unknown dead Ukrainians. "The found bodies were sent to the Nikolaev Regional Bureau of Forensic Expertise for the study. Investigators establish circumstances, witnesses and eyewitnesses of the crime," the department reports.

The prosecutor's office noted that the pre -trial investigation into criminal proceedings on violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is ongoing.
