Rostech has voiced plans for installation with a "unique automatic control system". The combined motor -building corporation, which is part of the State Corporation of Rostekh, declared plans to create a demonstrator of a hybrid power plant with a capacity of 500 kW, according to the site. They argue that in the future the engine will equip UAVs, helicopters and even planes.

In fact, it is a prototype, but the corporation claims that it will be "5 times more powerful" than the installation, which was presented last year by ODK-Klimov. The concept will consist of aircraft gas turbine engine VK-650, electric generator, 2 electric motors and a "unique automatic control system". What is the uniqueness of the system is not explained. Last year, the company also made a prototype of the GSU with a capacity of 100 kW, and at its base will now create an engine for 500 kW.

However, it is not about mass production of apparatus. The press release recall that such engines will help save fuel, increase flight safety, make rise from small runways, increase the maneuverability of UAVs and other aircraft, such as helicopters, aircraft and even aerotaxes. At the moment, the "Demontor" of the GSU exists only in the form of a 3D model.
