"No more choice": the Russian Federation has set stiffer conditions for leaving the market of Western companies

According to journalists, the Kremlin increases the pressure on Western businessmen, forcing them to make a "voluntary donation" to the Russian budget, thus financed the war in Ukraine. Western companies who want to leave the market of the Russian Federation and sell their assets will be forced to make a direct donation to the Russian treasury. About it writes Financial Times with reference to the application of the Foreign Investment Commission in Russia.

It is reported that the Kremlin has decided to increase pressure on Western businessmen who intend to leave Russia. Considering the innovations, the enterprises that have left Russia may criticize for the financing of war in Ukraine. Previously, such companies had a choice: to make a "voluntary donation" to the budget of the Russian Federation in the amount of 10% of the sale or delay of payment for sale for several years.

"The main difference between the new rules and the former is that companies are no longer choosing. It is confiscation of real estate," - said the new law of Associate Professor of MDIMV and partner of the Bureau of Netorors, Saveliev and partners Ilya Rachkov. Such measures apply to even those companies that have already reported the exit, but have not yet completed the procedure.

According to one of the exit participants, approximately 2000 applications are waiting for consideration and approval. "The commission meets three times a month and considers no more than seven applications in one meeting - so you can count," he told reporters. Recall that on March 25, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called for the use of pirate copies of the content. His statement was made in the context of many online services, including Netflix.
